Winemaking Fruit Flavorings

If you want to add fruit flavors to your wine, but don’t want to deal with the mess that a fruit puree can cause by upsetting sugar levels in your wine or restarting fermentation, flavor extracts are a great way to go.  If you use natural fruit, you will need to add potassium sorbate (stablizer crystals) to make sure it doesn't  restart the fermentation process.

If you add sorbate to a batch of wine, you will not be able to naturally carbonate it with priming sugar as the sorbate will prevent the natural carbonation (bottle fermentation) from taking place.  We stock fruit flavorings in 4 oz fruit flavorings bottles and also by the 1 gallon fruit flavorings for those that are making larger batches or for winerys and brewerys.

Using our natural flavoring extracts allows you to control the dosing to your taste. Add a small amount and taste wine and see how you like it. If more is needed, keep adding the flavoring in small increments until you get the desired flavor. This is best done just prior to bottling.
