Winemaking Screw Cap Wine Bottles
The Grape and Granary sells a number of screw cap wine bottles. From the standard 750 ml wine bottle to the 375 ml 'tenth' bottle, the Grape and Granary has you covered.
Wines bottled in screw cap finish bottles tend to mature more slowly than wines bottled in a cork finish bottles but tend to last longer before the wine goes 'over the hill'. All of the screw cap bottles that we sell use the standard metal or plastic 28mm cap.
You won't need a corker or corking machine. You will want to fill the bottle to within one inch of the screw cap. You can stand the bottles up or lay them down (it does not matter with a screw cap). The most popular screw cap bottles that we sell are the 750 ml green screw cap bottle and the clear 'tenth' screw cap bottle.
In our opinion, bottling wine in a screw cap bottle has many advantages. The only real disadvantage is losing the 'romance' of uncorking a bottle.
