A full bodied, malty flavored German lager with a good degree of toasted malt aroma and malty flavor. This style was traditionally consumed at Oktoberfest in Germany. Commercial Examples: Augustiner Oktoberfest, HackerPschorr Superior Festbier, Hofbräu Festbier, Löwenbräu Oktoberfestbier, Paulaner Wiesn, Schönramer Gold and Weihenstephaner Festbier.
This kit includes Munich malt syrup, dry malt extract, steeping grains, steeping socks, pellet hops, dry yeast, priming sugar, Whirlfloc tablet, and instructions. It requires a 35- 45 minute boil. Kit makes 5 US gallons. If you prefer to use liquid yeast we recommend Wyeast #2124 or #2112. Statistics are Est OG 1.060, Est SRM 10, Est IBU'S 25. Potential Alcohol 6 ABV.
