This Milk Stout recipe produces a malty and creamy palate pleaser. It is made with mildly roasted dark grains, medium caramel malts, chocolate malt and lactose milk sugar. There is only one bittering hop addition (Northern Brewer).
The Kit includes 6.6 lbs of malt syrup, specialty grains, hop sock, pellet hops, priming sugar, lactose, safale s-04 dry yeast, and instructions. This beer won a silver certificate AHA national competition.
Commercial examples are Mackesons XXX Stout, and Samuel Adams Cream Stout. It requires a 45 minute boil and makes 5 US gallons. If you desire to use liquid yeast we recommend Wyeast #1084. Anticipated SG 1.056, SRM 42, IBU 39, and 5.6% ABV.
