Our Irish Red Ale beer kit produces a medium bodied, caramel flavored Irish ale that dries out just right in the finish- Similar to Killians. It boasts a nice malt/hop balance. We use two types of caramel malts, toasted malt and a tad of roasted barley to provide the drying finish. This recipe has been very popular among our customers and is a crowd pleasing favorite.
The kit includes malt syrup, dry malt, steeping grains, steeping sock, pellet hops, dry yeast, priming sugar, Whirlfloc tablet, and instructions. It requires a 35-45 minute boil and makes 5 US gallons. If you prefer to use liquid yeast we recommend Wyeast #1056 or #1084.
