Our honey brown ale recipe starts with a traditional English style Northern Brown Ale. The base beer style has a sweet malt aroma with notes of toffee, nut, biscuit and caramel. Clover honey is added at the end of the boil to retain a bit of palate roundness and honey character.
The kit includes malt syrup, dry malt extract, honey, steeping grains, steeping sock, pellet hops, priming sugar, safale s-04 dry yeast, Whirlfloc tablet, and instructions. It requires a 45 minute boil and makes 5 US gallons. Anticipated SG 1.057, SRM 24, IBU 20, and 5.7% ABV.
