Grape and Granary offers a variety of stock pots and brew kettles for most every type of homebrewer. The Grape and Granary sells stainless steel kettles. However, an enameled stock pot (often used for canning) will work as well. Aluminum stock pots should be avoided as they can impart a metalic taste on the brew.
Most homebrewers will brew one (1) or five (5) gallon size batches. For those brewers making a one or five gallon size batch from malt extract, a five gallon kettle is a good size. For all-grain brewers making 5 gallon all-grain batches using the sparging method, you will need a five gallon and an eight (8) gallon size brew kettle.
For those homebrewers making 5 gallon all-grain brews using the Brew-In-The-Bag method, the brewer will want a stock pot that is at least ten (10) gallons in size. A (14) to (16) gallon size kettle would be best and only one (1) kettle is needed for this method. Lastly, for those doing all-grain brewing we reccomend having a built-in thermometer and ball valve in your kettle for accuracy and ease.
