Spices have become a very important part of home brewing beer, wine and spirits. Unlike the German Beer Purity Law, which dictated that only water, hops, and malted barley should be used to brew beer, times and palates have changed. American beer drinkers find themselves clamoring for beers with spices, especially seasonal brews. Beers such as Belgian Wit beers with orange peel and corriander and holiday beers such as Holiday Spiced Ale kits have become quite popular. Consider adding brewing spices to your next batch of homebrew to make it unique.
