Our Holiday Spiced Ale has Seven pounds of malt extract and one pound of honey making this a high alcohol celebration beer. It is similar to Great Lakes Christmas Beer. For the spiciness we use cinnamon, orange peel and ginger root. Honey is also included which adds to the complexity, mouthfeel and boosts the alcohol content.
The kit includes malt extract syrup, dried malt extract, honey, steeping grains, steeping socks, pellet hops, dry yeast, priming sugar, Whirlfloc tablet, and instructions. It requires a 35-45 minute boil. Makes 5 US gallons. If you prefer to use liquid yeast we recommend Wyeast #1056 or #1272 Ale. Statistics are Est OG 1.066, Est SRM 13, Est IBU'S 26. Potential Alcohol 6.6 ABV.
