Fat tire is an extremely popular beer featuring a 'toasty, biscuit-like malt flavors coasting in equilibrium with hoppy freshness'. The recipe uses very pale malt extract base with Munich and victory malts contributing to the toasty flavors. Golding hops are used to balance the toasty malt bill.
This kit includes Pilsen dry malt extract, steeping grains (Munich, biscuit, crystal and dextrine), steeping socks, Golding pellet hops, dry yeast (US 05), priming sugar, Whirlfloc tablet, and instructions. It requires a 45 minute boil. The kit makes 5 US gallons. If you prefer to use liquid yeast we recommend Wyeast #1056 or White Labs WLP001. Statistics are Est OG 1.048, Est SRM 15, Est IBU'S 16. Potential Alcohol 5% ABV.
