This traditional English style Pale Ale has a good degree of hop bitterness, supporting caramel flavor and an excellent hop aroma from the traditional East Kent Golding hops. Commercial examples are Young's Ramrod, Fullers ESB, Whitbread pale ale and Bass ale.
The kit includes malt syrup, dried malt extract, steeping grains (Pale Ale, crystal and torrified wheat), steeping sock, pellet hops, dry yeast, priming sugar, Whirlfloc tablet, and instructions. It requires a 35-45 minute boil and makes 5 US gallons. If you prefer to use liquid yeast we recommend Wyeast #1098, #1028 or #1318 Ale. Statistics are Est OG 1.052, Est SRM 12, Est IBU'S 54. Potential Alcohol 5.2 ABV.
