Home Distilling Clarifiers

The Grape and Granary sells a number of clarifiers for home distilling. It is especially important to clarify your wash prior to distillation if you are making a neutral tasting spirit or a clear spirit. If you are aging your spirit in barrels or with oak  alternatives, it is not that important and the wash can be distilled even if not completely clear.

We have found that the best products for clarifying the wash are Turbo Clear and if you are making larger batches, a combination of bulk Chitosan and Kieselsol. Chitosan and Kieselsol are used in combination and come in one liter bottles.
