Our Grape and Granary American style wheat beer is medium bodied wheat beer great for summer drinking. The recipe consists of Wheat malt syrup and American hops (Centennial and Willamette) for flavor and aroma. The beer is light gold in color with a thick dense white head. Commercial examples are Bell’s Oberon, Harpoon UFO Hefeweizen, Three Floyds Gumballhead and Sierra Nevada Unfiltered Wheat Beer.
The kit consist of malt syrup, dry malt, steeping grains, steeping sock, pellet hops, dry yeast, priming sugar, Whirlfoc tablet, and instructions. If you prefer to use liquid yeast we recommend Wyeast #1010 or #1056 Ale. It requires a 35-45 minute boil. Makes 5 US gallons. Statistics are Est OG 1.049, Est SRM 6, Est IBU'S 27. Potential Alcohol 4.9 ABV.
